 “Sounds of Natuvu”

CD & Video Project

Dear Friends,The Mission at Natuvu Creek is proud to serve the people of the Buca Bay area by bringing over 300 volunteers a year to the island to provide free medical and dental services as well as help to teach health and nutrition education, bring clean water sources, build homes and school programs, and offer other assistance. Funds are needed to continue to provide medical equipment and supplies, and to support the maintenance and growth of the Mission. We have an exciting project coming up very soon!  Christopher Walker is a Sound Engineering  student at the University of Michigan.  This coming Spring Break (February 26 – March 6, 2016)  he will accompany Jeffrey Gothard, a local video producer, managing content on the Santa Ana Unified School District Time Warner Cable Channel, to the Mission.  Together, they will record all of the wonderful sounds of Natuvu! The people of the island have a wonderful sense of musicality.  You can hear two examples on this page.  We would like to capture this beautiful music…. vocal, instrumental, solo, group, traditional, Christian and contemporary – and create a CD that the Mission can use for fundraising purposes – selling it at our Mission Cantina, on our website, and perhaps even at the airport in Fiji.  You’ll also be able to view a video of the recording process.  All proceeds will benefit the Mission to bring in a solar energy source and to purchase much needed medical supplies.

We would like to raise at least $3000 for this project to help with the cost of this project, including equipment and supplies, editing software, and CD reproduction.  Any funds raised above those needed for the project will be a direct donation to the Mission.  To contribute, Please Click the Donate Button Below (or to the left) and enter the amount of your tax-deductible donation to The Mission at Natuvu Creek on my behalf. Thank you and God Bless!
