The people of the island have a wonderful sense of musicality. You can hear two examples, to the left. My goal is to capture the “Sounds of Natuvu” – vocal, instrumental, solo, group, traditional, Christian and contemporary – and create a CD that the Mission can use for fundraising purposes – selling it to volunteers, on their website, and perhaps even in the Fiji airport. All proceeds will benefit the Mission to bring in a solar energy source and to purchase much needed medical supplies. I will be traveling with a local Time Warner producer who will assist with the project and will also create a videotape of the process and the project.
I am trying to raise at least $3000 for this project to help with the cost of my travel and stay at the Mission, equipment and supplies, editing software, and CD reproduction. Any funds raised above those needed for the project will be a direct donation to the Mission.
