Scriptural Foundation
To Jesus, healing was a tangible way to show unconditional love to those he came in contact with. As Christian health professionals we are called not merely to heal the body, but to meet the spiritual needs of those we serve as well. The most effective way is to model a healthy lifestyle.
We communicate this life changing message of Jesus Christ by providing competent, compassionate health care according to the principles of good health are revealed in the Bible.
Our Need for God:
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." - Galatians 6:7-9
Excellence:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men." - Colossians 3:23
Compassion, Teamwork, Trust
"Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble." - 1 Peter 3:8
Charity:
"Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life." - 1 Timothy 6:18-19
Commitment:
"But your hearts must be fully committed to the LORD our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time." - 1 Kings 8:61
Honesty:
"You must have accurate and honest weights and measures, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you. For the LORD your God detests anyone who does these things, anyone who deals dishonestly." - Deuteronomy 25:15-16
Encouragement:
"For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children, encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory." - 1 Thessalonians 2:11-12
Respect:
"Show proper respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king." - 1 Peter 2:17
Integrity:
"In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us." - Titus 2:17
Respect for Authority:
"Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God." - Romans 13:1. "Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free." - Ephesians 6:7-8
Good Stewardship:
"God said, Let Us make mankind in our image, after our likeness, and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the beasts, and over all of the earth . . ." - Genesis 1-26
